Ethereal Dwellings

Duo with Gonçalo Sena. Ethereal Dwellings brings together recent works by Gonçalo Sena and Johan Österholm and takes its starting point in the artists shared interest in ephemeral materialities and processes. In the duo exhibition they meet on the topic of natural architectures anchored on human made structures, such as beehives, wasps nests and birds nests.
Österholm focuses on the early history of public street lighting and subversive acts of resistance against the ever increasing brightness of the night sky, while Sena’s works explore the perception of industrial substances hybridised with natural elements and their erosion processes.
